Bedtime Stories

Beth May and I had to improvise when it became clear we would not find the clean, bright hotel setting we had originally planned for that day. Instead of forcing an idea that no longer fit, we shifted the mood and built something more intimate around what we had, and that change gave the shoot a much more personal feeling. What could have been a setback ended up opening the door to a softer, more natural kind of connection in front of the camera.

She had brought a few accessories with her, and that helped us shape the session in a way that still felt playful, stylish, and fully worth doing. Beth was clearly enjoying the moment, and that energy carried the shoot forward effortlessly, allowing her to reveal a side of herself that felt less staged and more genuine. For me, that is often where the most memorable images begin, when the original plan falls away, and something more honest takes its place.

This became one of those cozy shoots where the atmosphere mattered just as much as the styling itself. Seeing Beth in latex and boots within that quieter, more relaxed setup created a beautiful contrast between bold presence and personal warmth. That balance is what made the session so enjoyable for me, because it never felt overproduced, only spontaneous, comfortable, and real.
