Highstyle on Wheels
A schoolgirl look does not have to stay traditional. For this shoot with Catherine Reus, I combined the familiar black-and-white styling with glossy black latex leggings made by latexkind and a pair of roller blades. The result sits somewhere between school uniform, streetwear, and Highstyle: recognizable at first glance, but completely changed by the materials and the way Catherine moves in them.
Learning While Shooting
Catherine was still quite new to roller blades, which became part of the shoot's character. Instead of pretending that every movement was perfectly controlled, we worked with that uncertainty. Standing, rolling, stopping, finding balance, and occasionally just sitting down for a moment all became usable parts of the session. There was concentration involved, but there was also plenty of fun, and that made the images feel much more natural than turning the roller blades into nothing more than another fashion accessory.
Latex in Motion
The latexkind leggings were key to making the combination work visually. Their glossy black surface contrasts with the white top and connects naturally with the black skirt and the darker elements of the roller blades. This is exactly the kind of combination I mean when I talk about Highstyle: latex doesn't need to dominate an outfit to change it. Sometimes one carefully chosen latex piece is enough to take something familiar, like a school-inspired look, and push it somewhere new.
