Wet Latex in a Lake

By the second day in latex, the mood had shifted toward something looser and more intuitive. Alexandra Corneille suggested cooling down in a nearby lake, and that idea alone already told me the shoot would move away from rigid planning. We headed out to meet someone for filming, but once she stepped into the water, the priorities changed. Wet latex behaves differently. It reflects light in a softer, heavier way, and I leaned into that, letting the environment set the pace instead of forcing shots.

What interested me most was how natural the moment became once the suit was soaked. The latex clung without needing adjustment, and her confidence carried the frame. From one perspective, this reads as playful and spontaneous. From another, it is about endurance and comfort, being fully present in the material for a second day in a row. Both readings sit well next to each other, and I did not feel the need to resolve that tension.

We stayed longer than planned, long enough for the sun to start dropping and the light to flatten and warm at the same time. That is usually the point where I stop directing and start observing.
