Participating in Art

Liv Alvarsson marks a turning point, the culmination of my “Art Week” initiative. It wasn’t initially the direction I envisioned, but sometimes the most compelling artistic endeavors emerge from unexpected detours. I wanted to create a space where experimentation wasn’t just encouraged but celebrated, a new platform for pushing boundaries and exploring uncharted creative territory. The name for it will be “ShinyDollz”. With Liv’s participation, we ventured into a realm that felt both playful and subtly subversive: a departure from my earlier work but one that yielded surprisingly captivating results.

Now, I will be honest: this wasn’t the highly artistic endeavor that the Sophia Levine shoot was. It felt a little more spontaneous, a bit less… calculated, perhaps. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s a certain rawness to this particular series that I find incredibly appealing. Liv bravely embraced the challenge, even contending with a healthy dose of trepidation regarding the proximity of water, a testament to her commitment and willingness to step outside of her comfort zone. It’s those moments, that vulnerability, that truly captivate me as a photographer.

And speaking of pushing boundaries… I’m already exploring new avenues with Sophia Levine, incorporating elements of bondage and ballet. It’s a different energy, a different dynamic altogether, one that I’ve been eager to develop. I hope this shoot with Liv satisfies your expectations, proving that art can be found in unexpected places and that embracing the unexpected often leads to the most rewarding creative experiences.
