Angel in the Underground

Shooting Arya Leopec in a quiet subway station was exactly the kind of opportunity I love to grab the moment it shows up. The place was nearly empty, which gave us the freedom to move, experiment, and let the glossy black latex dress catch the harsh station lights in all the right ways. The angel wings added just enough contrast to make the whole look feel surreal against the cold concrete and metal around us. It felt like placing something elegant and unexpected right where no one would think to look, and that tension made the images come alive.

The lines of the station, the reflections on the floor, and the way Arya carried herself created a rhythm I could work with. Because it was so quiet, we had enough time to shoot a full video, and the movement added a layer that still photography alone cannot match. Her wings shifted, the latex reflected every passing light, and the whole atmosphere leaned into that angel‑in‑the‑wrong‑place idea without me having to overthink a single frame.
