Highstyle Gothic Shoot

Angelia Russo stepped into this highstyle gothic concept knowing it was not her usual comfort zone, yet she handled it with the kind of commitment I respect. I brought up the idea during one of her cosplay shoots, not sure she would agree, but she took it without hesitation.

The dark outfit, the structured layers, and the heavy platform boots pushed her into a different visual language, and she delivered with a seriousness that matched the mood. Even though black isn’t the color she gravitates toward, she wore it well enough to make the setting work for her rather than against her.

This shoot proved that a model does not need to fit the style naturally to perform at a high level. The contrast between her usual playful, bright energy and this more reserved gothic tone created its own tension in the images. The greenery in the background softened the look just enough to keep it grounded, and the outfit added weight without overwhelming her. She stayed motivated throughout, which made the session run smoothly and gave us the material we needed for both the photos and the video.
