White, Wet With Fun

Alexandra Potter takes over a foam-filled bathtub for a series that came about as much from practical necessity as creative intent; she was freezing on set, and a full tub of hot water turned out to be exactly the right solution. What followed was a shoot with a genuinely playful energy, Alexandra clearly at ease and having fun, the warmth of the water and the looseness of the atmosphere showing in every frame. Her dark hair wet against her skin, bubbles catching the light around her, she blows a kiss toward the camera with the ease of someone entirely in her element.

The wardrobe is white latex throughout, a body that reads almost clinical in its brightness against the blue mosaic tiles of the bathroom, though the setting quickly undermines any such reading with its warmth, foam, and movement. White ballet heels complete the look, an unexpected formal touch amid what is otherwise a very relaxed, water-soaked series.

The contrast between the precision of the latex and ballet heels and the spontaneity of the bathtub setting is what gives this series its particular character. It was not a planned scenario so much as a happy response to the moment, and Alexandra ran with it fully; the results have an unguarded quality that a more controlled setup rarely produces.
