Artsy Latex Horse Girl

The series presents Sayuri Kurohoshi in a state of complete latex enclosure. A catsuit, gloves, corset, and horse mask form a sealed black surface that reads as sculpture rather than clothing in the black-and-white treatment. The mouthpiece and pointed ballet heels add a physical dimension to the series that goes beyond styling; both require sustained effort to maintain, and that physical reality gives the images a tension that purely aesthetic choices cannot produce.

The black-and-white decision is the right one for this series. Color would introduce material variation and distract from what the images are actually about: form, surface, and the relationship between constraint and composure. The corset's busk closures running down the torso are the only structural detail visible against the otherwise unbroken black surface, providing the one point of reference for scale and construction.

Among Sayuri's work on the site, this is the most fully realized as contemporary art. The horse mask series has always pushed in that direction, and this particular shoot arrives at it completely.
