Bathing After Waking Up

This shoot with Grace Stout came together spontaneously, born from a cold morning in the atelier that made a hot bath the obvious solution rather than any planned concept. Wrapped in her black latex catsuit, she settled into the tub against a backdrop of blue mosaic tile and glass block windows, the water and rising suds adding a soft, steamy texture that played nicely against the material's deep gloss.

The interplay between the latex and the bathwater gave this series a different quality from a typical studio set, droplets beading across the surface, the suit catching light differently as it moved in and out of the water, all of it lending a natural, tactile intimacy to the images. Grace's relaxed pose, one arm draped along the tub's edge, hand resting lightly near her hair, reflected the genuinely easy, unplanned mood the shoot grew out of, warming up after a chilly start to the day.

Wearing her collar throughout, she maintained a calm, direct gaze across the series, which suited the quiet, low-key setting well. It's a nice example of how a shoot born from simple practicality, just needing to warm up, can turn into something with real atmosphere and a relaxed charm all its own.
