The Public Walk in a Park

With Valerie Tramell, the idea was simple and direct: take latex out of controlled spaces and place it right in the middle of a public park. No backstage atmosphere, no hidden corners. Just open sky, stone walls, passing strangers, and that deliberate choice to be seen. She wore latex riding pants combined with a fitted latex shirt and towering boots, turning a casual walk into a clear statement. From my perspective behind the camera, the tension between everyday surroundings and high-gloss materials created the real charge of the shoot.

She openly enjoyed the attention. Not in a loud or chaotic way, but in a focused, almost playful manner. There is something honest about admitting that latex and visibility can become addictive. Some would call it provocation. Others might see it as confidence expressed without apology. I observed how she positioned herself on the stone structure, how she held eye contact with the lens, how her body language invited reaction without ever begging for it. That balance is not accidental. It is intentional and controlled.

For me, as a photographer, public shoots like this test more than lighting and composition. They test presence. They challenge comfort zones, both mine and hers. The park setting did not compete with the outfit; it amplified it. The rough texture of the stones against the smooth latex, the daylight reflecting off the boots, the open environment framing a bold silhouette. Whether viewers see empowerment, exhibition, or simply style is open for debate. I documented the moment as it unfolded, directly and unfiltered, leaving room for interpretation.
