Balancing on Tiptoes and Latex

With Beth May, this shoot became a real test of balance and endurance. Alexandra Potter had given her the ballet heels, and once they were on, there was no casual walking anymore. Every step forced her onto her tiptoes, legs extended, posture automatically corrected by necessity. Combined with the glossy latex on her legs and the light dress above, the contrast between elegance and strain became the core of the images. I kept the setting open and minimal so nothing would distract from the tension in her stance.

The struggle was visible, and that was exactly what made it compelling. Half an hour in ballet heels feels long when every muscle is engaged. She received plenty of looks, some curious, some amused, and she handled them without breaking character. From one perspective, this reads as playful provocation, a stylish woman navigating public space in extreme footwear. From another, it becomes a study in control and resilience, how far someone is willing to push comfort for the sake of aesthetics and experience.
