High-Fashion With Latex & Ballet Heels
This shoot started with a simple idea: use latex in a high-fashion context and prove that it belongs far beyond a single narrow category. I wanted something elegant, deliberate, and slightly provocative without drifting into excess. Beth May immediately understood the direction and leaned into it. She even brought part of a bride's dress, which added an unexpected layer of contrast, making the concept stronger rather than gimmicky.
The combination of black latex, ballet heels, and the delicate white fabric created a tension that felt very fashion-forward. From behind the camera, I focused on balance. Latex is strong and dominant, while the bridal element is fragile and light. Beth held that contrast perfectly, controlling her posture and expression so neither side overpowered the other. The clean studio setup kept the attention exactly where it needed to be.
From another perspective, this shoot is about expanding perception. Latex is often boxed into a single visual narrative, and this session pushes back against that limitation. High fashion thrives on contrast, confidence, and precision, all things latex can deliver when used intentionally. This shoot stands as a clear statement: latex is not a restriction. It is a tool, and in the right hands, it works beautifully across genres.
