That afternoon with Valerie Tramell escalated in the best possible way. After already spending the day in her latexperiment catsuit, we decided to test a mermaid prototype by layering it directly on top, turning the session into something more ambitious than a styling exercise.
The design itself made the experiment physically demanding. The neck entry, long sleeves, full leg enclosure, and the large attached fin changed the body’s freedom immediately, so the suit had to be understood not only as an image but as a sealed structure with real constraints.
What interested me most was how the material would behave in water and how manageable it would remain once fully sealed and submerged. That made the shoot a proper functional test, not just a visual concept, and Valerie’s enjoyment gave the whole process the right energy for exploring what the prototype could really do.
